Title: Start Early

As an educator, I believe more can be done to strengthen inclusivity, even with the existing improvements in women’s inclusion. Promoting inclusivity is a process that should start from the formative years of life, mostly spent at home and in school.
It is disheartening to realize that even in modern times, there are still households and schools where girls are treated as less valuable than boys.
These practices, which are commonly overlooked while having future implications, includes giving the male child preference in classroom leadership, commemorating their births in grander ways, and supporting their ambition more than the females’.
Though they are not directly harmful, these small deeds accumulate and eventually determine the standard for how women are regarded in general.
International Women’s Day is therefore an open invitation to parents, educators, and other members of society to recognize our responsibility to uphold the standards for women’s inclusivity, build on previous generational efforts, and inspire inclusion purposefully.
